This beautiful male is Hummingwood's Theodore. He is a fabulous medium fawn boy with crimp, style, shine and a 15.7 micron. His conformation is impecable. His bite is perfect. He has a very typey head with a beautiful face (and smile). Add to these things his warm and friendly personality and you have the perfect male! What more could you want?

You read that correctly. Theodore has a micron count of 15.7! Fibers greater than 30 microns: 0.5%! His crimp style is bold and consistent from root to tip. The staple bundles together nicely. The fiber is so fine that it is hard to photograph without looking fuzzy. Needless to say, we were pleasantly blown away by this report.

Theodore won the third place ribbon in a very competitive class of 13 at the 2007 AOBA Fleece Show judged by Diana Timmerman. He scored a 20 out of 20 for fineness and handle, 17.5 out of 20 for the uniformity attributes, 11 of 15 for style, 9 of 10 for brightness and 13 out of 15 for lack of medullation and impurities. He lost points for weight because I over skirted! Being that this was the first time I had entered a fleece in competition, I didn't know what I was doing and took too much out. His fiber is incredible and I have learned from my mistake.

"Smokin' hot... and soft as butter," said Judge Charlene Friedman about Theodore when she awarded him the blue ribbon. When awarding him the Reserve Champion she called him "the future of America's alpaca."
This was his very first show at only 6 months and 2 weeks old.

Theodore is a grandson of Chilean Rockin Reddi on his mothers side and is sired by ALP Peruvian Alliance, both owned by Brightside Bend Alpacas. We are so excited by this genetic mix.

Theodore's first cria has arrived.  He is a beautiful black boy with lots of luster and crimp.  He was born to our Diva of Hummingwood.  We haven't named him yet, but he will be named soon.
