How We Got Our Start

How We Got Our Start

We brought our first alpaca (and her red ribbon) home from the AOBA show in Louisville, Kentucky in the back of our mini-van in 2003.  WGA Indigo Mist is her name and what a beauty she is.  At the time she was the only alpaca but she was not alone.  We had several llamas in the pasture with her.

As a small family farm, we have grown steadily over the years.  Our numbers have been as high as 18 alpacas, plus the llamas.  We are currently home to 13 alpacas and 5 llamas and various other critters.  Along the way we have encountered many people who have been willing to teach us and take us under their wings.

Our philosophy is simple, we strive to be the best that we can possibly be, whether that involves the daily care of the alpacas or whether we are sharing our knowledge that we have gleaned over the years with you.  Our goal is to continue to raise the bar whether in the pasture or the show ring and we would like to help you to do the same.

Macchiato di Hummingwood

Macchiato di Hummingwood

Macchi's first cria has arrived.  Macchi was bred to a dark fawn female and has thrown a beautiful brown male.  He is crimpy and lustrous and thriving.  The cria is very correct in conformation.  The cria was produced by our Ginger of Brightside.
